Is it Dangerous to Drink Too Much Water?

Doctors regularly tout the benefits of drinking plenty of water. Drink 8 to 10 glasses a day, they’ll tell you. We all know the dangers of not drinking enough water, whether it’s dehydration or not providing enough lubrication so that our system can break down the food we eat and turn it into waste.

On the flip side of the coin, is it dangerous if you drink too much water? While this may seem like a foolish question, the reality is that you can die from over consuming water. Water intoxication is a very real phenomenon, one that has already claimed lives.
